Intro to Motion Graphics (2/3)

Continue working on your short animation.

In collaboration with Rockey Ke.

For this week’s assignment, Rockey and I started working on making the assets that we will use for our animation. We broke the category of assets down into what would appear in each scene and are making variations of images that we want to use to animate.

Making Assets

Like I discussed with my partner, I started making 2D and 3D assets that we appear in our story board- the 3D ball being the central character in the animation and later evolving into other shapes. We wanted to use a combination of 2D and 3D images to give more depth and visual interest to our animation.

Background Assets

Rockey created some assets for the background where we would use gradients that evolve over time to further show the progress of animation throughout our piece.

Starting Animation Process

Although we didn’t get too far in the animation process, we started testing out the methods that we would use to create transitions between each chapter of story. Below is an example of how the circle would essentially evolve into the sun.
